Schloss Crassenstein is a beautiful castle in western Germany, in a scenic environment near the small town of Wadersloh, with 10,000 inhabitants.
The castle was transformed into a boarding house for international exchange students, who live here like a small community. Some of them stay longer (at least 3 years) in order to get ready for the German "Abitur", allowing access to universities in Germany.
In the mornings exchange students attend a Gymnasium (high school) near by, the Johanneum, in the afternoon they take part in additional courses at the castle, some mandatory and some optional. In the late afternoon and early evening, students have leisure time - they can take part in sports activities, learn to play the piano, read, spend their time with friends ...
At the weekends, students have different options, such as cultural activities or excursions to cities nearby.

Three meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner - are all taken together in the castle. Besides meals, snacks and fruit are always available for the students.

Outside of school, state-certified educators and social workers, who all have a lot of experience with different cultures and the challenges of boarding school life, as many of our students are away from home for the first time, look after the young people.
Of course, there are always carers on site, even at night.
In the afternoons and early evenings, there are always teachers in the castle to help with school matters - organisational matters, homework, tutoring, etc.
